This year we were fortunate enough to be able to go up to Lake Tahoe for a few days with my mom. As a child I spent a week in Tahoe every summer at Zephyr Cove, a Presbyterian Conference Ground right on the water. Everyone that came up stays in a big lodge, we cook all our meals in a huge kitchen, go to the lake to play all afternoon, and games and puzzles all night. I have very fond memories of it and wasn't sure if my kids would ever get the chance to experience it. I was very excited when my parents said that there were rooms still available if we wanted to go up. We couldn't stay for the whole week, but we wanted to go for a few days and were so glad that we did.
We took highway 88 up there. This is a more scenic route than highway 50.
One of the beautiful stops.

The kids were beyond excited. We let Dani sleep with mom since my dad couldn't come up until Wednesday. She felt very special the whole week and mom says she was the BEST roommate ever! She was quiet, did everything she was told, would get up in the morning, get dressed, make her bed, and read quietly until my mom woke up. Mom says she'll bunk with Dani any day!
