We finally have it.
Our home.
It was a long three years at my parents house.
It was a long time to get things paid off.
It was a long purchasing process.
But WE MADE IT!
All of us absolutely love it here. There is so much space, it's open and well lit. Our only focus right now is the inside as winter and the holidays approach. I love listening to my kids play in their rooms, outside in the cul-de-sac, or watching a movie in the family room. We have lit the fire in the stove, danced in the kitchen, and said family prayer nightly on our knees. We have organized, cleaned, and cleaned some more. We have already fought, made up, cried, and held each other. The kids have learned some harsh realities, like Danielle and Hannah ARE the "Lola and Maria" (my mom's house keepers who they asked for the first Friday we were here) of our new home. We must clean, pick up after ourselves, and work together to do it. I love the lessons that my children are learning daily. I love the closeness I see when I find Hannah has snuck into Danielle's bed to cuddle, or Ben has given Bree one of his toys to sleep with, or Danielle helping Ben to find his stuff for school.
Is this house perfect? Yes and no. It's where we are meant to be. Where my kids are meant to be raised. There are MANY things to be fixed, and they will be in time. For now, the fact that I don't have a stove, an oven, good windows, etc don't matter to me. I'm just happy to be in my own home, with my family, making memories that I will cherish forever.
