A friend from church, Michelle, recently told me about this blog and all of the great ideas she has gotten from it. We decided that we wanted to try to make this one together. It's called the Birthday Board, because it's no fun just to celebrate your birthday for one day! I loved the idea and we got to work.
Robin, also from church, does woodworking. She offered to purchase and cut the wood she thought was best for our project. (I was SO thankful for her because I know NOTHING about wood and am totally intimidated by Home Depot). By this time Stephanie was also on board and she and I took a week to run around and find all of the other materials that we needed.
I started with the cards because it is something I could actually do on my own.
We then spent every night Mon-Thur 8:15-11pm painting, Modge Podging, gluing, drilling, etc to get the final product.

Our Birthday Board!
These are our name plates. Stephanie owned a Cricut machine that cut out all of our letters. We then modge podged them on and went over with them a second time. I loved how it turned out.
I can't wait to use it! I don't think I will get it out until Ben's birthday, since using for myself seems a little weird.
There are a few more things that we are going to make and I'm grateful to this new little group of crafters that I've found. We may try to get together and do a project a month. They won't always be this big, but they will always be fun!
